The STM32C091 is a member of STMicroelectronics' new STM32C0 series, which brings the powerful 32-bit Arm® Cortex®-M0+ core to cost-sensitive applications. It is designed to offer an optimal balance of performance, power efficiency, and advanced features at a highly competitive price point, making it an ideal choice for upgrading 8/16-bit designs or for new applications requiring robust connectivity.

 

The STM32C0 MCU replaces traditional 8-bit or 16-bit MCUs in products such as home appliances, simple industrial controllers, power tools, and IoT devices. As an economical 32-bit MCU, the STM32C0 offers higher processing performance, greater memory capacity, a higher peripheral integration (suitable for functions such as user interface control), and other basic control, timing, computation, and communication functions. Furthermore, developers can leverage the robust STM32 ecosystem to accelerate application development for the STM32C0 MCU. This ecosystem offers a wide range of development tools, software packages, and evaluation boards. Developers can also join the STM32 user community to share experiences and insights. Scalability is another key feature of the new product. The STM32C0 series shares many commonalities with the higher-performance STM32G0 MCU, including the Cortex-M0+ core, peripheral IP cores, and a compact pinout with an optimized I/O ratio.

The STM32C091 with its increased on-chip memory and USB slave controller, now offers developers greater design flexibility for upgrading existing applications and developing new products. Furthermore, the new MCUs fully support TouchGFX GUI software, making it easier to enhance the user experience with features like graphics, animation, color, and touch.”

 

As the authorized partner of ST, Dongguan Team Source Display Technology Co., Ltd., has completed its first project using the new STM32C091 MCU. The company chose the STM32C091 to control the entire module for a 240x240 resolution rotary knob display, including the knob's 1.28-inch circular LCD and position encoding electronics.
