The epidemic has not slowed down, and the second extension of the third-level alert is on the line! Taiwan’s “Chief of Health” Chen Shizhong announced a total of 343 cases in the mainland on the 6th, with 75 cases in Miaoli County attracting attention, surpassing Taipei’s 64 cases for the first time. Day, the fastest is expected today. As for KYEC’s 48-hour suspension, the command center agreed on the evening of the 6th to lower the load, sub-cabin and divert, and partially resume work. However, all foreign migrant workers were still suspended. This affected KYEC’s nearly 30% strength, and the impact was not small.

On the 6th, the command center announced that there were 335 cases in mainland China, 8 cases in correction, 36 deaths, and a total of 343 cases in the mainland, 160 cases in New Taipei, 75 cases in Miaoli County, 64 cases in Taipei for the first time.

Rumor has it that the third-level alert will be extended for the second time for two weeks until June 28. The command center commander Chen Shizhong said that this week will be announced by Taiwan’s “Executive Yuan”. It is reported that Taiwan’s “Executive Yuan” will call an epidemic prevention meeting as usual , And after hearing the opinions of the Ministry of Education and other ministries, the decision was finalized. However, based on the observation of the epidemic situation, it was announced that a continued extension was imperative.

As for the cluster of Miaoli electronics factories, according to the command center statistics, as of the 5th, a total of 182 cases of the first home appliance subsidiary (KYEC) were confirmed, including 24 local and 158 foreign nationals; the second home appliance subsidiary (Chaofeng Electronics) A total of 12 cases were confirmed, all of foreign nationality; the third home appliance subsidiary (Zhibang Technology) also had 12 confirmed cases, respectively 2 local and 10 foreign nationals. Once the epidemic of these major electronics factories spreads, it may impact the related companies and the impact will be not small.

KYEC announced a 48-hour suspension of work last Friday, and screening of more than 7,000 employees. After a meeting with front-line officials from the Bureau of Industry and the commander of the forward command post, anti-epidemic physicians and the factory, conditions are available in accordance with the epidemic prevention plan. KYEC agreed to reduce load and resume work. Require foreign migrant workers to suspend work completely, adopt load reduction, sub-cabin diversion, and partial resumption of work. There are also discussions on whether local workers will resume work in high-risk areas for confirmed cases. Even if the worker can go to work in principle, the factory is also required to pay attention to the living environment The principle of one person and one room in the house.

The relevant measures for KYEC include stopping all foreign migrant workers from going to work, staying at home, and paying their salary; migrant workers in high-risk areas are arranged to stay in a centralized quarantine station; in low- and medium-risk areas, home isolation and health monitoring are carried out. Local employees who are diagnosed with the disease will be immediately investigated, and contacts will be listed and quarantined in accordance with regulations. For the rest of the staff, health monitoring has been strengthened. At present, all confirmed patients have completed medical placement. However, the above regulations only apply to KYEC.

Miaoli and Zhuke electronic factories have successively reported that employees or migrant workers have been infected with the epidemic, and the pressure is very high, and they are worried about suspension. The media asked whether to consider allowing companies or factories that employ a large number of migrant workers to shut down factories in accordance with Singapore's practice? Chen Shizhong responded that Singapore’s experience in handling migrant workers is worthy of reference for Taiwan, but Taiwan’s large factories can first adopt enterprise quick screening. If enterprise screening is required, relevant guidelines have been formulated.

KYEC responded to the suspension of foreign migrant workers, saying that there are currently more than 2,000 manpower shortages;

my country’s Taiwan Epidemic Command Center stated on the 6th that in response to the clustering of new crown pneumonia in the Miaoli County Electronics Company’s plant, the command center has immediately set up a forward command post to actively assist local governments and manufacturers in epidemic prevention and avoid expansion of infection. For foreign migrant workers, the command center requires all foreign migrant workers to stop working, stay at home, and pay their salaries.

In response, KYEC responded that there is a shortage of more than 2,000 foreign workers at present, and the actual impact of diversion and manpower scheduling needs to be evaluated if conditions are allowed to reduce load and resume work.

On June 5, the Miaoli County Government of Taiwan, China announced that 64 new cases were confirmed on the same day. Among them, KYEC has 53 cases, and the company has a total of 130 confirmed cases. In order to control the continuous spread of the epidemic, KYEC has decided to suspend work in each plant for 2 days from the night shift on the 4th to the day shift on June 6, and the machines will be shut down but the power will not be turned off. Whether the night shift on the 6th and beyond will continue to be suspended.
